Man to face court today over Quizzic Alley ram raid

A 29-year-old man will face the ACT Magistrates Court today on a number of property offence charges, including an attempted ram raid on Australia’s most magical store, Quizzic Alley in Fyshwick.

ACT Policing’s Criminal Investigation – Crime Disruption Team arrested the man on Saturday at a Kambah residence in relation to a number of ram raid commercial burglaries early last week. Aside from Quizzic Alley, Capital Chemist in Hughes and Uneke Furniture in Fyshwick were also targetted.

A search warrant was executed at the Kambah residence following the man’s arrest. Police believe the burglaries were not related to any impacts as a result of COVID-19.

The man will face a total of 16 charges, including burglary, theft, damage property, attempt burglary, drive motor vehicle without consent, drive while disqualified, attempt to take a motor vehicle without consent, and a breach of an intensive corrections order.

Investigations are continuing into the commercial burglaries. If you have any information, CCTV or dash-cam footage that could further assist police, you are urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000, or via the Crime Stoppers ACT website.
