Terms and conditions – store and parties

Quizzic Alley ships to customers in Australia only at this stage. Shipping to New Zealand will soon be possible, with international shipping planned. Shipping is completely free for orders over $85 anywhere in Australia. Orders below $85 will be charged a flat fee of $9.50. Shipping times may vary according to your location and heavy or large items may be subject to an additional shipping fee. Express Post is available for an extra fee.

[accordion-item title=”Refunds and returns policy”]

At Quizzic Alley we want you to be delighted with your magical purchase. If you’re not, you can return any item for exchange, a refund or a gift voucher. Items must be returned within 60 days from the date of purchase in as-new condition with all labels and packaging intact. Items that have been used, washed or damaged in any way will not be accepted. 

Sale items must be returned within 10 days for either an exchange or store credit in the form of a gift voucher. Full refunds do not apply to sale items.

If a collectable product – where intact packaging is integral to the value of that product – arrives with damaged packaging, please report it via email to magic@quizzicalley.com – with supporting photographs – within 48 hours and return as above.

Once the returned item has arrived at Quizzic Alley, a member of the team will make contact with you within 48 hours or on our next weekday opening day (noting the Quizzic Alley store is closed on Mondays and Tuesdays).

Returning a product is much easier than conjuring a Patronus

  • Email us at magic@quizzicalley.com with your name, address and phone number and the reason why you would like to return the item. It also helps to include information about the package, particularly the date on which you sent it.
  • Send the goods back to Quizzic Alley. Owls are welcome at Quizzic Alley as are Australia Post employees and couriers.

Sending the item to Quizzic Alley

Any costs associated with returning the item to Quizzic Alley are your responsibility. We recommend that returns are sent via registered post or a freight system that offers a tracking service as we do not accept responsibility for items lost in transit. In some circumstances we are happy to cover the cost of returns:

  • Faulty goods
  • Product not as advertised
  • Item/s arrived too late
  • Item/s is a genuine collectable and the packaging has been damaged during shipping
  • We sent the wrong product or the right product in the wrong size

If any of the above situations apply to your item/s, we will pay for the return of the goods. Simply contact our team at magic@quizzicalley.com and we will give you details for a free postage account to use for the return of the item or we will, of course, send one of our many owls.

Items that cannot be returned

Under consumer protection laws there are several exceptions on the return of products. These are as follows: Earrings, underwear and undergarments such as boxer shorts, briefs, sports bras and long johns cannot be exchanged due to health and hygiene regulations.


This return policy relates to the return procedures for products purchased from the Quizzic Alley online store only. If you wish to return a product purchased from the Quizzic Alley store in Fyshwick, you will need to visit the store.

A non-refundable deposit must be paid at the time of booking to secure that booking. This allows us to buy supplies, order any food and arrange staff to host your party.

You are required to pay the balance on the day of the party once we know exactly how many people are in attendance and what extras you choose. The account must be settled immediately after the potions class, if not before.

Date change

You may change the date of your booking at any time up to 14 days prior to the day of the party and your deposit will be applied to the new date.

Cancellations and no-shows

If you need to cancel your booking within 14 days of the party, the deposit will not be returned to you. However, if we find another taker for that timeslot, we will happily refund your deposit. If you fail to turn up for your party for whatever reason, your deposit will be forfeited.


Party fees are for up to 10 people. Additional people over 10 are charged a per head rate. If there are fewer than 10 people at your party, you will still be charged the full 10 person party rate.

As we have seen with the COVID-19 pandemic, lockdowns and changes to capacity can occur. If our store is forced to close, we will contact all party pre-bookings via email. Please do not call us. Generally, we offer as many postponements as required or store credits to the value of your deposit. Once our store is able to re-open, capacity in our potions classroom may be reduced. Again, we will contact you via email. The 2sqm rule means we can means a maximum of 18 party guests, 4sqm is 10 party guests. Please refer to the booking page for more up-to-date information.


A member of the Quizzic Alley team will call you at least one week prior to your party to confirm numbers and final arrangements and to answer any questions you have. Please reply to emails and respond to messages promptly so that we can be prepared for your group.

Food and drink

You are also most welcome to bring your own cake and party food. Please note the restrictions and recommendations around food included in the email confirmation sent to you soon after your initial booking. In general, we do not permit hot food and have no facilities for re-heating food. We also have a very small fridge so it is not possible to store cold cakes, eg. ice cream cakes. Please do not bring pastry based food, eg. sausage rolls and pies or a $50 cleaning fee may be charged. The supervising parent is solely responsible for supervising the consumption of food and beverages and the conduct and behaviour of attendees while celebrations, eating and drinking are under way. Plates must be provided by the supervising parent and the throwing of food and food fights are strictly prohibited. Any evidence of the latter will incur a $50 cleaning fee.


The classroom is already decorated so please do not bring wall decorations, party sprinkles, confetti, streamers, party poppers or other party decorations, including pinatas, or a $50 cleaning fee may be charged. You are welcome to bring small decorations for the table.
