QuizzicAlley – Canberra’s very own shop specialising in all things wizarding and with the biggest range of official Harry Potter merchandise in NSW/ACT – has been open just one month and owner Michael Milton is working day and night to keep up with demand.

The Ford Anglia inside the store is popular with wizards of all ages.

“It’s been amazing. Thousands of people from Canberra and as far away as Sydney, Newcastle and Wagga have visited us since we opened on 12 September. We realty didn’t anticipate the demand and sold out of some products in the first few days.

“We had planned to restock for Christmas a few weeks after opening but by day three I was reordering for the following week!

We wanted fans and families to come and have fun, not just shop.  There are comfy lounges to sit and just hang out while the kids play and the décor is fun, magical and whimsical.

The most popular products are time-turner necklaces, plush Hedwig toys and chocolate frogs.

“Not surprisingly, the chocolate frogs just hop out the door. We order as many as we can and then they’re gone within a couple of days.

But it’s not just the shopping that’s drawing the crowds. The shop features a real Ford Anglia and the famous sorting hat and stool for those all-important photos and selfies.

“This is the best job I’ve ever had. Everyone who comes in here is happy.”

Quizzic Alley recently started hosting Brews and Bubbles Science and Potions Classes that can be booked for birthday parties.
